Sue Roth, Barn Manager and Trainer

Sue Roth on Toby

Sue Roth started riding at the age of 5 which led to 4-H and a life long passion for horses. She started her formal training in hunt seat with Tom Struzzieri and continued with Kibby Schipper, showing in Hunters and Adult Equitation. Her love of the Thoroughbred racehorses led her to riding and breaking two year olds in Payson Park Training Center in Florida.

Over the years Sue has continued freelance riding and training at many of the Dutchess County boarding facilities. For five years she instructed, rode, and trained a high volume of horses at Exceller Farm in Poughquag. This gained her priceless experience in working very closely with the vets having to identify and treat lameness and injuries. She continues to attend as many Equine seminars as possible to keep up on new developments in nutrition, medications and care. Sue has a personal interest in and experience with the needs of senior horses having a 32 yr old Cushing's pony at home.

She takes a special interest in each horse and its unique personality and needs. She works to build an enjoyable trusting relationship with each horse and boarder.
